Client’s situation & inspiration

Our client wanted to renovate their Paddington terrace in order to get it ready for market and increase the resale value.

Brief

Harnessing natural sunlight, creating an open floor plan and using every inch of available space were at the top of the agenda for this terrace renovation in Paddington. A complete renovation that involved changing the floor plan and replacing all plumbing and electrical.

Challenges

  • Strata limitations and regulations
  • Heritage listed
  • Set budget
  • Creating an open plan layout in a narrow terrace

Solution

Communication was key. By having constant and honest communication with strata (and neighbours) we were able to get everything passed. Working within heritage guidelines was definitely a challenge but we made sure we worked with strata’s guidelines to avoid fouling any heritage work.

We worked closely with Collaborate Creative Designs to figure out how we could transform this narrow terrace into an open plan layout. We knocked down a few walls and combined the kitchen, dining and living room into one open space that is now the heart of the home.

To achieve a high-end look that was within budget we worked closely with our contractors to carefully choose the right products to suit.

Key features

  • Custom joinery throughout
  • New open plan layout
  • Designer tap ware
  • Designer tiles
  • Galley kitchen
